Introduction:

Mahamaya Lake lies between several small and large hills. The mountain spring’s clean water is one of this lake’s charms. You can see a green sheet if you look all around the reservoir’s surface. On the Dhaka-Chittagong highway, 45 kilometers from Chittagong city, in the Durgapur Union of Mirsarai Upazila, is located the second-largest manmade lake in the nation.
A really good place to escape from the busy and chaotic work environment and relax in nature. You can go fishing with a spear in a quiet spot while also cruising the lake by boat. Of course, you must get the spear beforehand.
The natural beauty of Mahamaya Lake:

Mahamaya Lake is a stunning combination of mountains and crystal-clear water. Beautiful water fountains, mountain underground spaces, and rubber dams may all be found in the region. It feels absolutely fantastic to travel across the lake in a boat. The tourist feels calm and peaceful thanks to the cool mountain water.
At Mahamaya Lake, guests may enjoy kayaking and camping. Kayaking on the lake for an afternoon is something that those who appreciate being outside and having new experiences might consider doing. Making lifelong memories when camping overnight by the lake is possible.
You will pass by Sitakunda’s Chandranath hill, which is incredibly beautiful, on your journey to Mahamaya Lake. However, you must reserve an additional day to get to Chandranath. You can reserve the remainder of the day for the lovely campus of IIUC and Bhatiari, a private institution in Chittagong, if you wish to explore Mahamaya Lake in one day. A golf facility run by the army and a lake with good water are both located in Bhatiari.
Best time to visit Mohamaya Lake:

Throughout the year, Mahamaya Lake is always crowded with visitors from different places. But, the ideal time to go mountain hiking and kayaking is during the winter season. Because being very thirsty and tired from doing small activities will not be as much of a problem right now.
To see the waterfalls near the lake, it’s recommended to go soon after the rainy season. The fountain’s Chhoras are playing because it is currently raining.
Where can I stay overnight.
There is no better place to stay in Mirsarai, next to Mahamaya Lake, than camping. However, Sitakunda does have a few good quality hotels where you can stay overnight.
These hotels have different types of rooms that you can rent. The prices for these rooms range from BDT 300 to 1600. But Chattogram city, which is about an hour’s drive from Mirsarai, has the best hotels.
Spots to visit:

Sitakunda has a lot of beautiful views, and it might take a week to see them all thoroughly. Travel enthusiasts should include Sitakunda on their bucket list due to its proximity to Mirsarai. The most visited locations in Sitakunda include the Banshbaria Ocean Shoreline, Guliyakhali Ocean Shoreline, Khayachara Well, Kamaldaha Well, Sitakunda Ecopark, Chandranath Slope, Jharjhari Well, and Kumira Sandwip Ghat.

Camping and Kayaking :

MKP is a group that helps people go camping and kayaking at Mahamaya Lake. You can camp between 6 pm and 7 am the next day. The biggest number of people that can fit in a tent is 30, and the smallest number is 4. The cost for camping is BDT 600 for each person.
When people go camping, they need to reserve a spot ahead of time by paying BDT 500. Remember, kayaking is not part of this package. Packages usually contain items such as a tent, a hammock, a campfire, a barbecue, and a dinner consisting of parota, rice, cocktails, and chicken. For breakfast, they may have parotta, fried eggs, legumes, fried potatoes, and tea.
There are also motorized boats for driving around the lake. This kind of boat can carry 8 to 10 people and costs between BDT 800 and 1000. The big boats that can hold 15 to 20 people cost BDT 1200 to 1500 for every hour you use them.
Where to stay at night:

There isn’t a finer residential hotel in Mirsarai, next to Mahamaya Lake, than camping. However, Sitakunda does have a few hotels that are of a decent caliber for overnight stays. These hotels provide a variety of room types for rent, with prices ranging from BDT 300 to 1600.
You are welcome to visit and stay in Chittagong City. Numerous high-quality hotels are located in the city near GOC Junction, Lovelane, Newmarket, and Station Road. You and your family are welcome to stay at these hotels. These hotels provide fairly decent cuisine quality as well.
How to manage the meals:
Mahamaya Eco Stop has no office for offering nourishments but for a few road nourishment. Guests more often than not take nourishment with them when entering.
There are one or two of little lodgings in Thakurdighi Bazaar where nearby nourishment is accessible. The visitors can visit the decently quality nourishment lodgings found in Mirsarai, Sitakunda Bazar, and the region zone. These lodgings will be very great for lunch.
How to go:
By road from Dhaka to Mahamaya:
The buses of BRTC start their journey from the Kamalapur terminal in Dhaka. Other air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned buses depart from Saidabad bus station. You can choose to travel by buses such as Saudia, Greenline, Silk Line, Sohag, Baghdad Express, Unique, and more.
The price for riding on AC buses is between 850 and 1100 taka. RS Alam, Saudia, Unique, Shyamoli, Hanif, Eagle etc. are names of different things or people. The cost of riding a bus is between 400 and 500 taka. Every bus goes to Mirsarai and stops there. To go to Thakurdighi Bazaar from Mirsarai bus stand, you can use a CNG auto rickshaw or any other vehicle. Then, enter Mahamaya through the road on the east side.
Dhaka to Chittagong by train: There are different trains that leave from Dhaka at different times. The Mahanagar Prativa train leaves at 7:40 am, Chattala Express leaves at 9:20 am, Mahanagar Godhuli leaves at 3 pm, Subarna Express leaves at 4:20 pm, and Turna leaves at 11 pm. Rent ranges from 160 to 1100 taka. The Sonar Bangla Express train has been recently added. Which bus goes directly to Chittagong without any stops.
